The Impact Award is awarded to a faculty member, staff, or team within the Ontario College system whose leadership in the use of educational technology has had a significant impact on learners, other staff, program and/or college.   Julie Whitehead, FOL administrator for the Faculty of Health Sciences, Human Services & Nursing, was nominated by her colleagues and her nomination was chosen from a select group of talented Ontario Colleges’ employees.  She will be received the award on Thursday May 26th at the annual Educational Technology Conference in Sarnia, Ontario where she will also be presented a workshop on “Social Bookmarking in Education”.

Julie is an active leader for the advancement and use of technology in our Human Services field. In an area where technology is often behind other areas, and working with clinicians who have often have limited experience with technology, she is always available for assistance. She always takes time to share ideas and new initiatives to use technology with students. She does this with eagerness, patience, and in a manner that is understandable.
